The best part of Christmas is the whole family savoring Mim's belly-hum jam. But Saraleen's and Royce's bellies aren't humming this Christmas. They miss their Pap something awful. Instead of decorating the tree with them, Pap is far away in New York City, digging a hole for something called the subway.
Pap wants to go home for the holiday, but his bosses have decided there will be no break, even for Christmas. It seems it's going to be one miserable holiday for everyone... until a gift from Sarleen and Royce proves that even the fiercest bosses just might have a soft spot.
