Demi
1942 -Demi first came to love Indian art and culture when she lived in India for two years as a young adult, and she has returned many times since. She is the author and illustrator of numerous books for children, including The Nightingale by Hans Christian Andersen, which was selected by The New York Times as one of the ten best illustrated books of 1985; The Empty Pot, named an American Bookseller Pick of the Lists, a Notable Children's Trade book in the Field of Social Studies, and an IRA-CBC Children's Choice; The Magic Boat, named an American Bookseller Pick of the Lists; and most recently, Buddha. Demi lives in Carnation, Washington.
