Book Guide

Per was a small boy whose home was on the steep side of a mountain, high above the sea. More than anything else, Per wished to fly like the eagles.

His mother explained that he could walk and run and climb but he couldn't grow wing like the eagles.

But Per never forgot his wish. And when, a long time afterward, the enemy came to Per's country, he knew just what to do. He would learn to fly an airplane and come back to help clear that enemy out of the sky.

And that is exactly what Per did. He couldn't grow wings but he could win them. This is the story of his flying adventures and of his serving his beloved country.
