It tells how, many years ago, a little deaf, mute, and blind girl met Anne Sullivan, herself partly blind. As a result of that meeting Helen Keller has seen light in darkness, has heard through the barrier of deafness, and has broken the silence with her voice. She tells with disarming simplicity how she overcame, with Anne Sullivan’s help and understanding, the tremendous difficulties of learning to live without either sight or hearing.
