A sensitive, adventurous woman with a crew of her children share the excitement of a small boat in large waters.  Mrs. Blanchet was the leader of a brave expedition which often followed the route taken by Captain George Vancouver one hundred and eighty years before.  She was skipper, navigator and engineer, seeing her crew through the dangers of tides, fog, storms, rapids, rocks, wild animals, killer whales, cougars and bears.  "I think The Curve of Time is one of the best books ever written on British Columbia's coastal waters," says Willard Ireland, Provincial Archivist and Librarian in British Columbia.
