Book Guide

All good fairy stories should start with those magical words 'Once upon a time...' and this charming Victorian story of a small girl and her enchanted cuckoo clock is no exception. The author, Maria Louisa Molesworth, was born in 1839 and wrote several adult novels under the pseudonym of 'Ennis Graham' before she turned to children's books—and her true vocation. The Cuckoo Clock was first published in 1887.
