The author-illustrator team who created THE MEXICAN STORY now turns to our great northern neighbor: Canada, land of natural wealth and beauty and of a fascinating mixture of peoples. May McNeer's text and Lynd Ward's illustrations provide a vivid introduction to this world of forests, rivers and lakes, much of it not so different physically from our own northern country, yet with a unique story of its own. It is a world peopled by French, Indians, English, Scotch and Eskimos; by trappers and priests, settlers and prospectors; a world which produced men like Cartier, Champlain and Frontenac and colorful figures like the Le Moyne brothers and Paul Bunyan.
