Little Joe loved the red mittens that his Mommy knit for him so much that he wore them all the time—in the winter on his hands to keep warm, and in the summer, hung by a long red string around his neck to carry things in.
When Little Joe lost the red mittens one day, he was very sad but the kind hen and the friendly cat and the wide-awake cow all helped him look for them. How the animal friends laughed when the mittens were found in a very strange place! The joke was on Little Joe, but he was happy again.
Unusual and skillful scratch-board illustrations by the author in two colors on every page.
