Ancient Egypt is described by a writer well known for the skill with which he makes the days of the Pharaohs live again. Dr. Baikie gives vivid pictures of the ancient land, of life in Thebes, the capital of the empire, and the everyday doings of some of its people. We get to know Tahuti and Sen-senb, a boy and girl in Egypt, three thousand years ago, and hear some of the wonder-tales that were told them. Finally there are chapters on the magnificent pyramids and tombs in which the Egyptians buried their kings and princes.
