Life at the court of King Arthur is very wonderful to Tor, a young peasant lad. There are great feastings and thrilling boar hunts and hawkings; there are the famous knights of the Round Table, including the greatest knight of them all, Sir Launcelot of the Lake. There are so many remarkable things to watch that—all too often—Tor forgets about his work.
Sir Kay, the steward, is patients with Tor's forgetfulness until the day he learns that the boy's carelessness has caused Galahad's injury. Then Sir Kay dismisses Tor from the castle, sending him home in disgrace.
How Tor wins the right to return to King Arthur's court makes fascinating reading for boys and girls.
Rafaello Busoni has illustrated Eugenia Stone's new story with beautiful spirited drawings in black and white.
