The little girl in OVER AND OVER was as curious as all children are about each of the holidays. And like all young children she was not absolutely certain when each of them occurred. She was so little that she didn't even know the difference between the seasons of the year. She remembered a crocus, a Christmas tree, a pumpkin, and many other things—but they were all mixed together in her mind.
One after another the special days came around, and the little girl enjoyed each of them thoroughly. On the most special day of all, her birthday, she made a wish. It was a wish all children will echo, but best of all, it was a wish which would certainly come true!
This is a perfect holiday book for the youngest child. Garth Williams' incomparable pictures are filled with color, life, and the wonders and joys of childhood.

Garth WiIliams’ watercolor illustrations are warm and inviting, and this story is the same. Over and Over, first published in 1957, is a beautiful and comforting beginning-of-the-year picture book.
