Everyone in town knows Marge. She runs Marge's Diner. At any hour of the day or night you can stop in for a meal or a snack.
Marge's day begins early. The first breakfast customer might be a truck driver, or a local businessman. You never can tell who you'll meet at Marge's Diner! As more people come in, everyone works hard—the waitresses, the baker, the short-order cook.
At lunchtime, there's hardly an empty seat to be found. Later in the afternoon, high school kids fill the diner with noise, and music, and laughter.
Marge eats an early dinner with her husband and daughter. She keeps an eye on the dinner crowd while she catches up on the family's news.
The diner never closes. When the day crew leaves, the night workers take over. At last, Marge heads home to rest and relax. It's been a busy day at Marge's Diner.
Gail Gibbons's cozy book is a celebration of the small town diner—much, much more than just a place to eat!
