Book Guide

Some people sneered at Pony Rivers and said that he would never become a jockey and that Little Vic was too small and too jumpy to make a race horse even though he was the grandson of Man o' War. But Pony's devotion to Little Vic—whom he saw from birth and named—carried him from Kentucky to Arizona to California. When a boy loves a horse more than he loves himself, great things can happen.
