As appealing as ever and pictured in their familiar bright red dresses, Flicka, Ricka, and Dicka undertake to bake a fine yellow cake. It is to be a surprise for Mother's birthday.
When the cake they mix is placed in the oven, the girls go outdoors to play, forgetting that it must be carefully watched. Then Flicka remembers, "The cake!" she cries. But the cake is scorched beyond use and must be replaced.
Maj Lindman's new book is simple enough for the beginning reader to enjoy, and at the same time will delight the pre-school listener as well. Gay, light-hearted illustrations help make the book great fun to look and easy to read.
