To Georyn of the planet Andrecia, Elana was an Enchantress from the stars who had come down to help him destroy the dragon that was devastating his land. To Jarel of the Imperial Forces, Elana was a mystery and finally a secret he might have to give his life to keep. To Elana herself, there was no mystery and no enchantment about her. She was simply a student at the Federation's Anthropological center, studying to become an agent who would one day seek out Youngling civilizations of the kind that both Georyn, at the medieval stage, and Jarel, at an imperial starship stage, represented, and learn about them.
Elana was not supposed to be on Andrecia. It was a series of mischances that had made her one of a team of three who were trying to save Georyn's people from the Imperial forces, which came from another planet. The three were hampered in their work because they could not reveal themselves, use all their powers, or work on the invaders except through natives of Andrecia. The work was not helped—or was it?—by Elana's discovery that Younglings really were people and that one could have true feelings for them.
This unusual book of science fiction asks question that we ourselves must answer for our own times.

Enchantress from the Stars

This complex and fascinating story about human nature, relationships, and man’s desire to live a life worth living is written with beautiful language, powerful character development, and a plot that is truly interesting to explore. This book may have a sci-fi background, but it is really much more like Ivanhoe than it is Star Wars. This story begs to be re-read and rewards the reader each time.
