Moments of privacy are difficult to have when you're the oldest of six children. And privacy was just what Ella longed for the night that Jules came home from the army. Now that World War I was over, Jules was coming back to her. And Ella could hardly wait to be alone with him.
Unfortunately, neither could anyone else in the family. Everyone, from Papa down to the littlest, Charlie, had to be in on the act. And Ella could see that spending time with Jules, and only Jules, was going to be harder than she'd thought.
That was before Ella was discovered by Mr. Hart, the Broadway talent scout. Singing and dancing in a vaudeville act wasn't exactly big-time, but it was a start. And Ella wanted to have a career as a singer more than anything in the world. Or so she thought.
Fans of the all of a kind family will get great pleasure out of reading this warm and funny addition to the series.
