This delightful story is about a clever black and white pony named Calico, a small boy from the city, and a little country girl.
Oliver comes from New York to spend a whole year with Roxy, who lives in a small New England village. Oliver's father has promised him a pony, and it is mischievous little Calico that Roxy and Oliver choose for their pet from the neighboring pony farm on the mountain.
In 'Calico' Miss Phillips gives a simple, vivid picture of life on a New England farm. The characters are likable and friendly, the story full of exciting incidents.
