In this gay book the author has captured the wonder of the child as he sees round about him the tracks of cats and dogs; the nondescript scratchings of birds; the tracks we make ourselves on the bathroom floor, first with the left foot and then with the right foot.
He goes much further—involving the reader in a guessing game—to show the record of events by the tracks that the animals make: "Do you know who made this track?"
Leonard Kessler obviously enjoyed making the informative illustrations he has provided for Dr. Branley's forthright text. The pages are clear and uncluttered; the reader will be able to follow the action closely and learn the differences between the tracks of dogs and cats, snakes and worms, men and women, boys and girls, and even birds and ants.
