Alfie has a favorite pair of red shoes. His mother says they don’t fit him anymore. She says it’s time to get rid of them.

So Alfie is going to run away.

She points out that he might get thirsty, so she gives him a water bottle with nice cold water. And a flashlight, with extra batteries. And everything else she and Alfie decide he will need for his trip.

But once he is out in the wide world,  Alfie discovers that there’s one thing he needs that isn’t in his bag. What will Alfie do?
