Ludmila Zeman

Ludmila Zeman has written and illustrated several acclaimed picture books. The Last Quest of Gilgamesh, her final book in a trilogy, received the Governor General's Award for Illustration, and The First Red Maple Leaf was a finalist for that award. Born in the former Czechoslovakia, Ludmila Zeman has taught art in Vancouver, created animated sequences for Sesame Street, and, with her husband, made the film Lord of the Sky, an award-winning animated short. She lives in Montreal and is the mother of two daughters.
