Jan Bloom

To prepare for being a mad scientist or an absent-minded professor, Jan earned a degree in Physics and Math from the University of Minnesota. Marriage and motherhood diverted her energy into livelier directions. Jan and Gary began homeschooling their children in 1982. All three were homeschooled into college. The Blooms were not homeschooling pioneers, but they were the settlers trying to follow the trails which had not yet become the highways homeschoolers travel on today.

The knowledge Jan accumulated learning about good books for homeschooled children and young adults eventually built a home-based vintage book business and ultimately led to compiling this reference guide to assist other book enthusiasts.
