Bo Zaunders
Bo Zaunders was born in southern Sweden. Love of travel and a sense of adventure prompted him to emigrate to New York City, where he eventually met and married artist Roxie Munro. His fascination with travel inspired Crocodiles, Camels & Dugout Canoes, illustrated by his wife. One of the heroes of that book was a pilot, which led to research into the rich field of early aviation. "I used to wonder where I really belonged, here or in Europe," Mr. Zaunders says, "and it was always in an airplane, over the middle of the Atlantic, that I would feel perfectly content."
