Barbara M. Joosse

Barbara Joosse, author of 51 books for children, is best-known for her lyrical style.  She often includes a “vein of gold—metaphor—to allow children to absorb the power of a book in their own time, helping them grow from the inside out.”  Several of her best-selling books are considered classics, “Mama, Do You Love Me?” and “I Love you the Purplest” among others.  A new series by Sleeping Bear Press, “Our City Adventures,” takes fox cousins Lulu & Rocky to interesting cities around the country.  Two of her books have been produced into musicals, “Lovabye Dragon” and “Ghost Wings.”  In addition to children’s books, Joosse has co-written lyrics to kindie-rock songs and is currently writing screenplays.
